‘Gay’ Activism ((Minor Edit✏️))

Now, it’s Christians being hounded by a liberal elite in power in government and society who are demanding, ironically, that Christians should be harassed, punished, fired or lose their businesses because they’re different and don’t conform.

It sounds on its face magnanimous. I took a great deal of offense at the statement,in particular where the author uses the word ‘different.’ When people use the word different, it can mean, not the same as others or other things or it can have connotations of someone or something being ‘strange’.Maybe i’m just too sensitive and reading more into it than intended.✳️

What we’re talking about here is the Christian baker in Colorado targeted for refusing to bake a ‘wedding’ cake for 2 same sex persons The case went all the way to the Supreme Court .The court concluded that the commission violated Phillips‘ religious rights under the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment.”

The author writes :

“The gay rights movement originally was an effort for us to be left alone and to not be punished for who we are. We simply wanted to be able to live our lives without fear of arrest, or our businesses raided or destroyed, because of who we were.”

In some countries-such as the Muslim countries of the Middle East-you can be killed JUST for BEING homosexual.

Here,In the United States, sodomy (usually defined as oral and anal sex) was a crime in many states, even when the acts were performed in private, between two consenting adults. In the 1960s, many states began decriminalizing all consensual, private sex acts between adults (including sodomy), and included those engaging in homosexual sex. Around the same time, some states enacted laws prohibiting sodomy between people of the same sex (such as the Texas law struck down by the Supreme Court), while other states retained laws that criminalized sodomy between any two people, no matter their gender. In 1986, the US Supreme Court upheld Georgia’s sodomy law, which criminalized oral and anal sex between people of the same or different sex, on the basis that homosexuals had no constitutional right to engage in sodomy. (Bowers v. Hardwick, 478 U.S. 186 (1986).)

As a Catholic I know the following:
Marriage is between one man,one woman for life. There is only one way to go around what marriage is;REDEFINE it and once you do, it has no meaning at all.

The purpose of marriage is unitive and procreative. In simple terms that means the union of male and female and having children.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states

“homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.”142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

Now the Church has a sex abuse scandal and here’s what they found:

August 17, 2018, (LifeSiteNews) – A LifeSiteNews analysis of the scathing  Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report reveals that the vast majority of reported sexual predator priests were homosexuals, most of whom preyed on teenage boys.

Nearly three-quarters of the offending priests were homosexual, while only about a quarter were heterosexual.

Fewer than than 3% of their victims were adults, and of those, most were young seminarians.

The numbers strongly suggest that the sexual abuse crisis within the U.S. Catholic Church stems from homosexuality, not pedophilia.

It is largely

” a product of a very sick Gay Mafia in the Church that overlooks the homosexual pederasty of the Cardinal McCarricks.”

What can a person faced with homosexual tendencies do then:

I would say do not define yourself by this one term. You’re not gay-you’re a person.

If you’re Christian you’re called to chastity. Search out  disinterested friendships.

I would be realistic & honest with yourself about the lifestyle of the openly gay. Since homosexual relationships and chastity don’t mix I don’t see how monogamy would be high on the list of the ideal.

Male and female are complimentary;same sex by its nature is not. The very term same sex makes that clear.I would surmise that the main goal of a homosexual encounter is self gratification. It’s neither unitive or procreative;the only achievable goal is self gratification.

It’s called the pursuit of pleasure for a reason. When you seek pleasure for pleasure’s sake it’s never fully satisfied.

The Catechism instructs us how people with same sex attraction are to be treated. It states

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Another words,i should treat them with respect and appreciate the struggle they are going through.I should pray for them and give them support in their Christian journey. Any lifestyle contrary to the life ALL of us are called to is destructive. I probably broke every commandment except that one(same sex).I destroyed enough relationships to know where we can end up going, if we’re not on guard and living a prayerful life. Father Z recommends confession. He’s right. We get to start over and mend fences.Confession is our story of the Prodigal Son/Daughter.

I always get the argument same sex ‘marriage’ is not affecting my marriage personally,so why care? True, it’s not. Our marriage doesn’t rise and fall on how many same sex ‘marriages’ take place. It does affect the institution of marriage itself though. If the next question is how, just look around.

As a side note i want to say that i respect Pope Francis because he is our Pope.

He’s one in a long line of many, past and future(depending on when this world ends, of course).

IMHO i think the teachings of the Church were clearer under Saint John Paul II and Pope Emeritus Benedict the XVI.Doctrines remain unchanged.Popes cannot change doctrine,no matter how much the media speculates(they’re clueless) every time the Church elects a new Pope.I think it’s obvious that some teach with more clarity than others.Pope Francis has occasionally muddied the waters or at least the media ran with an off the cuff remark he’s made. It’s usually one he’s left wide open to misinterpretation & that they do well.

Pray for our Holy Father, our bishops, cardinals, the victims, their families, our priests. Much needed.Pray for our beautiful Catholic Church.Pray for all the FAITHFUL priests, present and future.

✳️ the author is a well known person who is openly lesbian. I was blocked from her Twitter account. I like the woman(it’s nothing personal). She’s very bright & often makes great points but i doubt we are ever going to see eye to eye on ‘gay’ rights.

Brennan After Losing Clearance — I Didn’t Really Say Trump Committed Treason ⋆ WayneDupree.com

Since when does the US government allow a known traitor of the country, it’s citizens, special ops, to hold a top secret clearance? That’s right; NEVER, in fact, he should never have a need for this clearance or be trusted to work in government again after this mess.

The Church Scandal.Response from a lay Catholic who loves the Church

You probably know that 90% of the blog is focused on the Presidency of Donald Trump. It’s called Trump,The American Years for a reason. It means the majority of topics will be political and PRO TRUMP.From time to time there are some one off entries about a variety of topics that seem interesting. We can’t be all politics all the time, right?

You also know-if you’ve been here a few times- that i’ve devoted any number of entries to my grand daughter Alexa.

Twitter is often where I find the topics to post here (in addition to the WP Reader).

The followers on Twitter are hard core Trump supporters like myself. Some are Catholic, some Evangelical, some are basically secular humanists with no specific religious persuasion and others express belief in God with no affiliation at all.

They run the gamut. I have the utmost respect and  admiration for the Evangelical Christians.  They tend to be pro life, unabashed witnesses of their own faith in Jesus and very patriotic-they make no apologies for their love of Jesus & country. If we stick to the topic of politics and Trump  we’re on the same page. We certainly share our pro life and traditional marriage views.

Unfortunately there is an old bigotry in the United States that is not going to die a slow death anytime soon. Anti Catholicism. I’m not naive about it.I know it’s there.  We have a soft coup going on at the moment too. It’s no time to be doing battle over differences we’re not going to settle in a tweet storm.

A soft coup is a pretty big deal, right?

However, the sex abuse scandal has broken wide open again. We can’t ignore it and shouldn’t.A few people have brought it up on Twitter and with it surfaces the anti Catholic bigotry we can’t seem to shake in the United States.I don’t want to get off on the wrong foot with people I consider my Trump family.

On the other hand i feel i have to balance a defense of what the Holy Catholic Church truly is -and is meant to be- with the dark truth of this horrible scandal. It’s indefensible.I caution about getting caught up in the media take on it though. They are no fans of Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular.

It does not make the Church the whore of Babylon. It doesn’t make all priests evil predators.I couldn’t imagine things like this ever happening;I grew  up with some of the most wonderful and faithful priests and nuns.I left the Church for a period of my life too-so grateful for the grace to return!

I know it’s  probably hard for non Catholics to square up how the Church can be founded by Christ Himself and claim to be Holy when these priests, bishops and cardinals have fallen so far.I don’t doubt that there will be Catholics who would question those claims and lose faith.

I’ll leave the spiritual guidance  on this matter to people like Father Z. your parish priest.the bishops who can address it and of course,Pope Francis.

Fantastic read here:http://wdtprs.com/blog/2018/08/archbp-cordileones-letter-to-the-people-of-archdiocesesf-fr-z-kudos-and-a-mini-rant/

Another fantastic read;this one on the nature of the scandal with some cold facts https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/majority-of-predator-priests-were-gay-and-abused-male-teens-pa-grand-jury-r

I will say this though: if we’re going to talk about the power of Jesus on the cross and that He died there for ALL mankind we can’t take it upon ourselves to decide who,out of all mankind, ought to be excluded.According to scripture; NO ONE.He died for each of us and all of us. Yes,even the fallen priests, bishops and cardinals involved in the scandal and cover up.

It doesn’t mean they don’t face it,own up and suffer the consequences. Of course they do-if that had taken place years ago we might not be where we are now.I’m not defending any of it. We have some pretty deep issues to deal with here in the Catholic Church but I’m no expert.I do some commentary on matters political Better to  stick to that.

To those Trump supporters on Twitter i consider my family all i ask is you keep in mind i’m not defending the criminal/immoral behavior of those priests.I’m defending the Church itself. I can’t sit back and let her be attacked. I don’t want it to cause division with us either.

We have a country on the line here. There’s too much at stake. For now, know that the Church will never let this happen again. They will deal with it. They have always had to deal with (us)sinners.i won’t make excuses for it-down the road,at the right time,we can always discuss it.

I do part company with our President on one issue;same sex marriage. I’m thankful he’s taken the pro life stand he has.His position on same sex marriage is not a deal breaker as long as he protects the religious liberty of those of us who do NOT accept it.Hillary Clinton wouldn’t have done any good for either.

He’s appointing conservative judges .They will carry a lot more weight than he ever will ,for the short time he will be President(2 terms/8 yr if we have our way).A lot of these issues get settled in the courts,NOT the executive branch.

One of the problems we have as Catholics is that like abortion, the Supreme Court decided that same sex marriage is a right. How do we fight city hall when the highest court makes such an indefensible decision? We don’t lay down and play dead.We have to speak up  at every  opportunity we get.

We have to try &  find candidates who will defend the sanctity of marriage and our religious liberty;people who will protect our right to follow our conscience.  I think too many Catholics threw in the towel. We’ve adopted kind of an “oh well” attitude.

Our country is paying a heavy price for these decisions. You can see how profoundly it has affected our culture. Now we see this huge scandal in the U.S. Catholic Church.

I part company with Pope Francis stand on immigration/ refugees and stand with President Trump’s position.Let’s be clear here:

There are 5 NON NEGOTIABLE issues in the Catholic Church; abortion, cloning, same sex marriage, euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research.

Note that immigration and refugees is not listed there.

The wife of Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos is making the bombshell suggestion that her husband drop a plea deal he has with special counsel Robert Mueller. Papadopoulos’s Wife Tells Him to Dump the Mueller Deal? (tell Mueller to pound sand)– Great American Republic

According to the wife of George Papadopoulos, he needs to withdraw his plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. According to her, Mr. Papadopoulos is only guilty of getting the nuances wrong with his meetings with a Russian. The fact that he did not try to hie the meeting but only got the details wrong, weighs in his favor. It is also possible that his defense did not properly advise him of all the options that were available to him. The decision to withdraw from the plea deal will come soon. Here are the details that led her to this conclusion.
