Philadelphia, Pa., Sep 30, 2015 / 12:03 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Two committee heads of the U.S. bishops’ conference voiced support for Pope Francis’ statement rejecting the sexual abuse of minors and promising accountability for those guilty of crimes against children.

“I was so happy that our Holy Father was very clear with his message today,” said Bishop Edward J. Burns of Juneau, chairman of the U.S. bishops’ committee on child and youth protection.

Speaking to CNA Sept. 27, he described the Holy Father’s words to an international gathering of bishops at the Philadelphia seminary earlier that day.

Pope Francis entered the room and set aside his prepared remarks, the bishop said. “He spoke to all the bishops heart-to-heart, and you could tell that he had a passion about him.”

“And in speaking within that passion, he was very clear and he was very strong in that anyone who participates in any…

The Church owes much to St. Jerome. While his great work was the Vulgate, his achievements in other fields are valuable; to him we owe the distinction between canonical and apocryphal writings; he was a pioneer in the field of Biblical archeology, his commentaries are important; his letters, published in three volumes, are one of our best sources of knowledge of the times.

MICHAEL gABRIEL RAPHAEL

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Blessed Saint Gabriel, Archangel We beseech you to intercede for us at the throne of divine mercy: As you announced the mystery of the Incarnation to Mary, so through your prayers may we receive strength of faith and courage of spirit, and thus find favor with God and redemption through Christ Our Lord. May we sing the praise of God our Savior with the angels and saints in heaven forever and ever. Amen.

Blessed Saint Raphael, Archangel, We beseech you to help us in all our needs and trials of this life, as you, through the power of God, didst restore sight and gave guidance to young Tobit. We humbly seek your aid and intercession, that our souls may be healed, our bodies protected from all ills, and that through divine grace we may become fit to dwell in the eternal Glory of God in heaven. Amen.

IF i were Donald Trump and i were up on the debate stage

here’s what i would do. Look straight at the moderators [and the audience of course] and flat out announce-at just the right time of course-i am not a debater. I would not do well on a high school debate team.I’m running for President and my goal is to get things done, not talk the folks to death.

It’s an honest admission.Trump is a great communicator. Trump is terrific in interviews. When it comes to debates the format falls flat. Actually, most of the formats are flat. You don’t really get to know what  a candidate is about. Some candidates are very scripted. Some know how to say just the right things. Some get how to play to the camera. There’s shortcomings to the debates. A lot of  us get more information than we know what to do with on Social Media especially Twitter.

I’m not learning anything new that i haven’t learned about a candidate from all the info that’s out there.
The debates are a total waste of time.

Now if i a candidate were to say that they’d be accused of not being prepared or being able to ‘handle’ the “debates”.

So we may just be stuck with them. A few more words on all that this week. I think it’s worth talking about.

and he means itand he means it!

Donald Trump Full 60 Min Interview with Scott “Petty”

ignore some of the silly (and FALSE)accusations Pelly  throws in the narrative.

The rest of the interview is great. Pelly is seething. He was trying to corner Trump and it failed.

No Scott ,he did NOT offend women. No Scott ,he did NOT offend Vets. No Scott, your little dance with Trump did not end the way you wanted it to.

He handled your stupid questions very well.

At the first canonization mass to be celebrated on US soil, Pope Francis called the Church “to go forth to offer everyone the life of Jesus Christ.” He said that “The People of God can embrace everyone because we are the disciples of the One who knelt before his own to wash their feet.” Thursday morning, he will become the first pope to address a joint session of Congress. At the White House Wednesday, he said he will offer a gift of service to his legislative hosts, saying he “will have the honor of addressing Congress, where I hope, as a brother of this country, to offer words of encouragement to those called to guide the nation’s political future in fidelity to its founding principles.” Already, he has been offering words of encouragement to the pro-family and pro-life communities here in the United States. At Washington, D.C.’s titular church, he said that “I appreciate the unfailing commitment of the Church in America to the cause of life and that of the family, which is the primary reason for my present visit.” And, he said that he is “conscious of the courage with which you have faced difficult moments in the recent history of the Church in this country without fear of self-criticism and at the cost of mortification and great sacrifice.”

“The Internet…is something truly good, a gift from God.”  Pope Francis

The pope speaks out loudly and clearly, without compromise on a variety of topics such as:

true charity,  women, part-time Christians, the internet as a gift from God, prayer, each child is a gift,  a Church which is bruised,  Peter denies Christ, climate change, we have a Lord who is capable of crying with us….
