Message to Tea Party

Agree with the tea party in principle. I admire Ted Cruz for standing up and speaking out. However, the defund Obamacare  idea was dead in the water from the start.Reality check:was Obama really going to sign a bill to defund Obamacare? Ya think? The effort did put Cruz in the spotlight and he is awesome in his own right but this was just a bad idea. It cost Ken Cucinelli a race he could have won and the Republicans would  have lost big time in 2014. I don’t care who was to blame for the shut down. The American people blamed the Republicans. They got blamed over the last one too.

If there’s one more government shut down you can forget about the 2014 elections. If you think Washington is a disaster now imagine it with the Dems in TOTAL control of the Congress, the White House and the courts.Obama may as well rule by fiat.

So before you pressure for another shut down think twice, think carefully.

Just when you think things could not be worse consider they could be way worse. The Dems would have control for YEARS.The tea party plays a crucial role in our political system today. They are a huge benefit BUT let’s be sure we’re attacking the right people. The Dems and Obama do enough of it.They don’t need help. We are not going to agree with people 100% for 100% of the time.We don’t even do that with our best friends and family and it’s not going to happen with the people in Congress either.

Just words to the wise here.

Come Christmas Day,NO Politix

The computer, along with the news,is going to be off for Christmas day.I’m debating whether i can stomach watching the State of the Union address in Jan or not.I can predict he’s going to brag about himself, throw in a few anecdotes of ppl obamacare has helped and then get down right dirty nasty to his opponents.Especially the Republicans. I am a little curious on how nasty Obama will get;but not sure I’m curious enough to listen to him.

I can tell him what the state of the union is:

1.We have a Pres who lied to the American ppl.

2. and now to be an equal opportunity offender-as much as i respect Ted Cruz and agree with everything he said the night of his famous filibuster the defund effort was a waste. For one,the Pres has veto power and there’s no way on earth he’d sign a bill  into law to defund Obamacare. Not happening. Nor would it have made it past the Senate anyway. All Cruz did was get the government to shut down and it could have cost us 2014.It cost Ken Cucenelli his election.Had it not been for the shut down he could have won Va.Instead they got Terry McCauliffe; an Obama crony.Good job.

3. Here’s the people who got Obama elected:

  • young people.they thought Obama was cool, they liked him.
  • women who believed Romney would take away their birth control and God knows there’s nothing more important than  having your birth control. The economy is on the verge of collapse, ppl are losing their health insurance but what could be more important to women than birth control.(BTW…I’m a woman before you go too crazy)
  • low info voters who don’t do much homework on the people they vote for
  • the ones who really got him elected.People who swore they would vote for anyone but Obama and decided Romney wasn’t “conservative enough” .They stayed home and had they voted Obama would NOT be President.

Can we please stop attacking Republicans? The problem is Obama. The problem is the Dems control the Senate. If they get control of the House and Senate, like they hope to do, we’re done for. The Dems gave themselves the nuke option. The President has veto power. The Dems can kill any bill the Rep pass when it gets to the Senate.REALITY.

The only way to stop it is quit attacking Republicans and get them elected in 2014. I don’t agree 100% all the time with any representative in Congress.Even the people i really respect-like Ted Cruz. Not going to happen. If they vote using their best judgement MOST of the time that’s all I ask for.Do i get the chance to read every bill? Nope.Do they know better than i do what is going on? Usually. Are they right all the time? Of course not.Are they caught between a rock and a hard place most of the time? Darned straight. You can’t keep everyone happy and it does cost people elections when you vote one way or the other. This time around the goal is STOP OBAMA and that better be the ONLY goal. The only way we can do that is get a Republican House and Senate.

  • 4. We have a President who is weak and aimless when it comes to foreign policy putting our own country in danger.BIG time.He took a horrible deal with the Iranians to make himself look good. I guarantee they are still building nukes and we bought them time. What leverage will we have w/ the next deal?NONE.
  • Am serious  about getting behind Allen West for Potus. So far, if he decides to run, he’s probably the one.

There ya go.The state of the Union.

The Paradox of Christmas,from GK

ImageI listened to an atheist explain the need to put up a billboard telling people they do not need Christ in Christmas.Odd since the word Christmas begins with the word Christ.Regardless, the whole point of the billboard is ridiculous.I don’t think people need to be told that they don’t need Christ in Christmas. They can decide this for themselves without some billboard telling them they’re free to exempt from their lives what the holiday(HOLY DAY to Catholics)is based upon. Of course, there are Christian messages everywhere but no one is forced into believing in God.You either do or don’t and if you don’t then I’m not sure why you care?

It’s like arguing for nothing. Or as GK also said, if there were no God,there would be no atheists.

The atheist said he didn’t want people to be forced to go to church if they don’t want to.You can be compelled in some way,but forced?

My parents insisted us kids went to church every Sunday and Holy Day because we were Catholic. I lived in their home under the rules. They had the right(and the OBLIGATION)to bring us up with their values and faith tradition. When we became adults we were certainly free to choose.

We were taught to do a lot of things. You could use the word forced.Oh well. They insisted we  learned how to speak English, get  potty trained,do our homework and clean up after ourselves.DUH. They didn’t wait until we were adults and THEN start teaching us because we could choose. We’d end up being imbeciles with no clue how to get along in the world or live independently.

I’m also tired of the misread of the Constitution by very small groups of people who are trying to take away religious freedoms and calling themselves tolerant. BALONEY.All the  Establishment Clause states is that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibit the free exercise thereof.
All the founding fathers were trying to do is avoid a state religion like the Church of England(Anglican?).It’s more about keeping Congress from interfering in what tradition we choose or our right to reject any tradition at all.If the Congress hasn’t passed a law prohibiting a person  from being an atheist and imprisoning them for it there’s no reason to make a big deal of our country recognizing it’s Christian-Judeo foundation. It gives atheists the right NOT to believe-they’re fortunate we have a Christian-Judeo foundation. Most atheistic states (such as Communist states)are not very tolerant of anyone.

The state becomes god.

Bishop Morlino\’s Letter about Common Core Curriculum

Description:

The Diocese of La Crosse, Wis., will be “neither adapting nor adopting” the controversial Common Core State Standards, the Catholic school superintendent has told The Cardinal Newman Society. And Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison, Wis., has joined a growing number of diocesan leaders who are refusing to conform to the Common Core in their Catholic schools. Writing,“Our Catholic schools are great treasures, both of the Church and of our society,” in this letter co-signed by Michael J. Lancaster, superintendent of the diocese’s schools, Bishop Morlino outlined the reasons why “Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Madison will not adopt the Common Core State Standards.” – See more at: http://www.cardinalnewmansociety.org/CatholicEducationDaily/DetailsPage/tabid/102/ArticleID/2749/IsPreview/true/Madison%E2%80%99s-Bishop-Morlino-Rejects-Common-Core-Standards-for-Diocesan-Schools-Superior-and-Milwaukee-Dioceses-Also-Say-No-to-Common-Core.aspx#sthash.PN259QJ7.dpuf

Dear Friends in Christ,

“Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:5)

Our Catholic schools are great treasures, both of the Church, and of our society. Many of our Catholic schools have been assisting parents in the education and formation of their children for well over 100 years, allowing generations of children to receive the extraordinary benefit of a Catholic education. During this time, our schools have operated from the foundation of Gospel values and the proposition that every person is a unique individual, created and loved by God who calls us to fulfill our humanity by perfecting our God given talents and skills that we may come to know and love God, transform our world through lives of heroic virtue, and merit life in Heaven with Christ for all eternity.

This has always been the goal of Catholic education, to lead our students to the Truth that is Christ. As all creation comes from Christ, this Truth encompasses all facets of the natural world and the human condition – art, history, science, mathematics, music, theology, philosophy – all academic disciplines, as well as values, morality, right, wrong, good, evil, justice, peace, wisdom etc. Catholic schools are unique because they aim to educate the whole person, mind, body, and soul that students may come to know God, know themselves, and know Christ, that they may discern His will for their lives.
