Hail

beautiful Fatima

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve:

to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.

Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us,

and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus,

O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

O Reilly Factor

atheist guest seems to think the Catholic Church is medieval. He celebrates the birth of the sun.Seriously?  I take it he meant because we don’t swing with the times. His take on Pope Francis was contradictory. He seems to think the Pope is liberal. No,the Pope is Catholic and holds fast to the same doctrines the Church has always taught.Yet,he and Bill seem to think this Pope is more inclusive. The Catholic Church has always been inclusive. Her doors have been open to sinners since the very beginning;the only thing she hasn’t changed is in permitting people to sin with her blessing.Nothing new under the sun.

I don’t recall Jesus ever saying,go and continue sinning.

Last i knew sin hasn’t changed either. Adam and Eve fell to pride.Cain committed murder.David adultery. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed over immorality especially homosexual behavior.(Where do ppl think the word sodomy came from?).

Nothing new under the sun.Men have always tried to treat women like objects. The Catholic Church exalts Mary-God Himself elevated Mary to the highest place in heaven a human being could be given. Jesus created her immaculately conceived and then  He  assumed  her into heaven. He crowned her as Queen of heaven and earth. In fact Christianity elevated the treatment of all women.Consider how the pagans treated women. Why is giving women birth control and praising them for being promiscuous considered such a great privilege?(Not getting that).

I’m not sure why the liberals are swooning over Pope Francis but it will probably be short lived once they figure out he’s actually Catholic. In fact O Reilly’s guest seemed to be of the mind Pope Francis was less Catholic than his predecessors.HUH? This guy doesn’t get the Catholic Church at all. There’s nothing worse than having the misinformed-or uninformed-get into commentary on the Church.

i hope Bill’s viewers picked up on the ignorance of his guest.I’d like to think there’s hope for anyone though;even someone who celebrates the birth of the sun and not THE SON.

gk on the Catholic Churchgreat point GK  😉

Husband’s Rockin Candy

Husband went into the kitchen today and made his hard rock candy like he did last Christmas. The aroma of the various flavors alone is worth it. Tomorrow I’ll post up his recipe.Easy to make and delishus.A jar of home made hard rock candy makes a great gift.

He used anise, grape, strawberry and peppermint. The overpowering one is the peppermint.

Just be prepared to have a bit of a sticky kitchen.

Saturday we’re going to make crispy sugar cookies like my mom used to make and praying they turn out  even half as good as hers always did. Will share that recipe too.Maybe some photos. For today, good night,God Bless.

When you’re young

It’s great to think you are going to live forever &that everything is so simple. There is so much to enjoy and so little to worry about. One day we’re older and we become our parents. We treasure what we recall of our childhood but we know we can’t go back.

Suddenly life isn’t so simple. It’s short. It dawns on us that it’s the blink of an eye. It’s exactly what it is today and will be the same tomorrow. It doesn’t change a whole lot. Routines take over. You even feel especially happy to wake up feeling well for a change.

Remember that old saying,if you have your health you have everything. There is some truth to that.

I also noticed you get the chance to take stock of your life and think about all the mistakes you wish you had never made.

You know you can’t undo but you can feel a tremendous gratitude to God that you can be forgiven.

Confession Catholics,Confession.

Since Advent is a time for prepare for Our Lord confession is a great way to do that…the building will not fall down and the priest will not go into shock.Trust me.Our priest is still living.

Science Sees What Mary Saw From Juan Diego’s Tilma ZENIT

Digital technology is giving new leads for understanding a phenomenon that continues to puzzle science: the mysterious eyes of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The image, imprinted on the tilma of a l6th-century peasant, led millions of indigenous Indians in Mexico to convert to the Catholic faith. Earlier this month in Rome, results of research into the famed image were discussed by engineer José Aste Tonsmann of the Mexican Center of Guadalupan Studies during a conference at Pontifical Regina Apostolorum Athenaeum. For over 20 years, this graduate in environmental systems engineering at Cornell University has studied the image of the Virgin left on the rough maguey-fiber fabric of Juan Diego’s tilma. What intrigued Tonsmann most were the eyes of the Virgin.
